Hero to Superhero: Design the Ultimate Level-Up Device: Have you ever thought, "If my hero had the perfect device, they could’ve escaped that sticky situation!"? In this exciting class, students will dive into the world of user experience design by creating and prototyping their hero’s ultimate device. Using principles of human-computer interaction, students will learn how to design technology that fits their hero’s unique needs and abilities.
Students Will Learn:
- Understand Design Components: Identify their hero's strengths and weaknesses to create a device tailored to their needs.
- Develop Problem-Solving Skills: Brainstorm ideas, test concepts, and iterate on designs to solve real-world challenges.
- Build a Low-Fidelity Prototype: Bring their ideas to life using simple materials, turning abstract concepts into tangible prototypes.
- Sharpen Presentation Skills: Pitch their creations in a storyboard presentation to the class, learning to communicate their design ideas clearly and confidently.
By the end of the course, students will have not only designed a functional, imaginative device for their hero, but also developed critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills that will benefit them in future projects and beyond!
LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch. All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
