USING LIGHT TO SUSTAIN LIFE   

Using Light to Sustain Life: This course will contain lecture and laboratory components. Over five years we will discuss absorption and emission of light, illustrated by examples of natural and synthetic pigments, using light to produce clean energy, and application of light in innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Each of the topics will be illustrated by experiments which students will perform in the lab. The course will combine elements of chemistry and photochemistry, energy science and medicine.

LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch.  All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
