Wearable Tech Ventures (WTV): Global Youth Hackathon: Over the course of a week, middle and high school students will be immersed in Wearable Tech culture and encouraged to exercise their imagination to create interesting and innovative hacks and product ideas. WTV Global Youth Hackathon is not a typical hackathon: it's a registered 501c3 nonprofit providing a welcoming, engaging, and creative environment to support all students, girls, minorities and abilities alike. This annual gathering allows everyone ranging from beginners to seasoned hackers to explore technology and develop their skills as engineers, designers, and creators. Registered students will receive hands on instruction and mentoring in closed sessions from industry experts, access to complimentary workshops such as app and chat and chatbot development.
During the first two days, students will engage in workshops led by tech experts, college professors, coaches and startup founders to understand the world of wearables; opportunities for solution development; collaboration tips in a virtual/hybrid environment; patents and trademarks; and the process for working with a team to pitch a solution for funding.
During days 3 and 4, students will form teams to develop wearable tech solutions to everyday problems with assistance from the Wearable Tech Ventures ecosystem of experts.
On day 5, students will pitch their solutions and idea prototypes. The top ideas will be vetted by a panel of judges and student choice, leading to potential investment and mentorship from Wearable Tech Ventures and partners.
