CodeLab: Build, Learn, Create Ever wondered how your favorite apps and websites come to life? Or how you could turn your own ideas into real, working programs? "Codelab" is your chance to dive into the exciting world of programming, where creativity meets technology. This course is designed especially for middle school students who love solving puzzles, experimenting with ideas, and making things that work. Starting from the basics, you’ll learn how to use code to build projects you can actually use, making technology feel approachable and exciting. Imagine showing off your own mini-programs to friends and family, knowing you created them from scratch!
Students will explore:
- Core Coding Concepts: Discover how to use variables, functions, loops, and conditionals—the building blocks of all programming. These skills help students understand what makes code work and open up endless possibilities for creating and problem-solving.
- Hands-On Projects: Students will work on fun and practical projects, such as building a calculator, a countdown timer, and a to-do list. Each project reinforces the concepts learned, making coding both practical and rewarding.
- Interactive Challenges and Quizzes: Through fun challenges and quizzes, students will test their knowledge and deepen their problem-solving abilities, building confidence along the way.
- Creativity & Problem Solving: Coding isn’t just about technology—it’s about learning to think critically and approach problems with creativity and resilience.
By the end of this course, students will have built small projects they can show off, along with a stronger foundation in coding. It’s the perfect introduction to a skill that’s shaping the future, and it’s designed to make learning fun, accessible, and inspiring!
LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch. All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
