Future Builders: Creating A Sustainable World is an engaging, hands-on summer program designed for middle and high school students to explore real-world environmental and sustainability challenges. Over the course of five themed days, participants will dive into ecosystems, energy, water, waste, and climate systems through interactive lessons, outdoor exploration, and collaborative team projects. Each session is designed to build curiosity, deepen scientific understanding, and connect big environmental concepts to real-world issues.
Students will also explore the UMBC campus, seeing firsthand how sustainable solutions are implemented in a college setting. Throughout the week, teams will investigate problems, brainstorm creative solutions, and reflect on their role in promoting a sustainable future. By combining science, problem-solving, and teamwork, this camp empowers students to become informed, confident, and motivated environmental stewards.
LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch. All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
