AI Lab: Train Your Own Smart Machine - A computer would deserve to be called intelligent if it could deceive a human into believing that it was human.” - Alan Turing Ever dreamed of teaching a computer to think? Now you can! Step into the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence, the same technology behind Netflix recommendations, TikTok filters, and voice assistants like Siri! In this hands-on, one-week course, middle school students will create their own smart projects while discovering how AI “learns” to recognize images, sounds, and movements.
Using Google Teachable Machine, students will experiment with real AI tools, no coding required, just curiosity, imagination, and a love for discovery. Students will explore how Artificial Intelligence learns from data and powers everyday technology. Apply hands-on skills to train image, sound, and movement models using Google Teachable Machine. Analyze how data quality and variety affect AI accuracy. Create original AI projects that showcase creativity and innovation. Collaborate effectively in teams to design, test, and present AI models. Evaluate AI predictions and refine models through problem-solving. Reflect on AI’s real-world impact, benefits, and limitations." Through teamwork and creativity, students will design their own mini-innovations, gaining confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of how AI shapes our everyday world. The next big idea in AI might just be yours!"
LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch. All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
