CyberSafe: This introductory interactive course is designed to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of cybersecurity in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn how to protect themselves, their devices, and personal information through hands-on activities, games, and real-world examples. The course emphasizes awareness, safe online habits, and the ethical use of technology.
By the end of this course, students will:
- Understand basic cybersecurity concepts and the importance of online safety.
- Identify common online threats such as phishing, malware, and social engineering.
- Create strong passwords and apply safe practices to protect personal accounts.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to suspicious emails, messages, and links.
- Maintain secure devices by understanding updates, antivirus protection, and safe downloads.
- Demonstrate responsible digital citizenship, including ethical behavior and awareness of cyberbullying.
- Apply learned skills to make informed decisions about personal privacy and online interactions.
LUNCH: Students staying for full day or for both morning and afternoon sessions can bring or buy their lunch. All students will eat lunch on Campus in The Commons, a small food court.
